Congrats to Dori and Jennie! I believe the town just sent a strong message with this vote.
As for the budget, I did not support it. While I am not opposed to paying a 5% levy, I cannot support paying that levy on top of bad budgeting decisions.
That said, I am now wary of "getting what you wish for". Based on Dr. Moccia's comments on WNYT, I am afraid of the Board coming back with another budget with a lower levy simply based on elimination of the latter restoration levels. No thought process. More bad budgeting decisions. Not good.
Should we hope for a contingency budget instead? I realize it is a slightly higher levy, but does it not restore a lot of programmatic cuts? I could live with that. Can you outline the programmatic differences between the defeated budget and the contingency?

I don't want my kid to lose out on sports and music and have huge class sizes. Now what are we going to do. Too many have cried out against the contingency. I think that more cuts are coming.....
