the AP community can now rejoice. We hope Neal and his gang will open their eyes bigger and remember they serve the interests of the voters who put them on the Board; not the School Administration. We hope a good Superintendent can be found that will lead the school district with integrity and honesty.

Did they appoint an Interim???

Let's All Take A Deep Breath!

I have been a long time supporter of the Jo and the administration. So many good things have happened in this district from academics to band to sports.
Let's all wish Jo and her family Godspeed!

Let's also understand that in a democracy majority rules. The results of the latest election " is what it is". The folks have spoken.

Can we as a community come together and work together.?
We need to let Jennie and Bil and Dori and ........ have a shot at leading. Or we need to let Neil and Jessie and Peter and Chris have a shot at leading. Or we need to let Neil and Peter and Jessie and Chris and Jennie and Bill and Dori have a shot at leading.

What's our choice?

Lots of folks have agendas - please recognize that you have an agenda and understand that others do also!

the worst scenario would be like what happened before when Dr Johnson retired - Jo Moccia appointed Acting and then confirmed THE Superintendent. Sharon Lawrence - is history repeating with her, with BOE putting her as Acting and later leading to an official appointment? Looks like progress wont be made!

Why weren't the taxpayers notified of this meeting? In the BOE policies, don't all exec. sessions have to be called for in an open BOE meeting? If this was considered an 'emergency meeting', why wasn't the meeting day/time posted on the AP website?

Anonymous said...

Yes, I seond that question - why wasn't the meeting day/time posted on the AP website?

Also, to the poster "June 1, 2011 9:17 PM" - just curious, but didn't you recently just lose your BOE seat???

With words like "folks", "agenda", "it is what it is", and "majority rules", and "democracy" - and then going on to break out the "sides" of this BOE (aka pissing match), you sound an awful lot like someone who just told everyone to stay off blogs.

In a democracy, the majority vote of the PEOPLE, not the sides of the BOE, is SUPPOSED to be the case. Not in this school district. This is like the Hatfields and the McCoys, and is very far from a Democracy in APCSD.

The entire BOE is supposed to represent the people - the students, taxpayers, parents, etc. Among the BOE members, we should not choosing up sides, like we are playing a game of dodge ball. To hear you say, let's give either these names OR these names a chance to lead, shows thinking that is quite frankly disturbing.

And sorry, but I do not care to wish Jo well. Not after she spit in peopls faces, smirked and laughed at them, and wrote a derogatory article about GWS families, and now walks away, after leaving the Brunswick community devastated. I can't "take a deep breath", as the wind was knocked out us, by none other than Josephine Moccia, PHd.

with the contingency budget, are we losing summer school this summer, and are we losing regents exams next January. Basically, could you tell us all the things that are being cut?

Anonymous said...

Can anyone answer this please..Does anyone know who paid and is paying for the use of all the AC units sticking out of the windows at George Washington School. It looks like every classroom has a unit in it? Thanks.

Anonymous said...

you're losing January regents because of a state ed decision and was not a local decision. we'll be lucky to have regents exams in June/August in the future. Fed regulations only require 1 HS math & ELA test. The state doesn't ahve the $ to fund it anymore.

What a bunch of small minded a$$%#*&. AP school district get ready to take five giant steps backwards now that Billy boy has Dori and Jeannie to partake in his merry band of idiot-cee. Bill, Jeannie and Dori ... the village called and the idiots are missing.

I too am unmoderated Averill Park

Did you just climb out from under a rock? Its been almost a month. News must travel slowly in your circle. Maybe you are just dizzy......

Life in AP will be WAY better simply because dolts such as yourself will not be able rule the district, as you have, any longer.

Balance will be restored and good decisions for all will be made. We will also be able to get funding from building use not allowed until now.

We will look into the past two years and pull out the records to see who got the special treatment, and correct it. Hold people accountable. Scary for you isn't it? Tell your guilty friends.

Life is good, starting July 12.

Even dopes like you can remain "unmoderated". It doesn't make you any smarter.

@ 9:18pm,
Take it to "we Love" and find some sympathy.
You could go see BBS and have a "whine" hour with her, she got spanked, so did you.

Anonymous said...

I would like to ask Anon 9:18pm to tell us all just what the 5 steps forward were going to be.

Tell us what our small minds are going to miss out on.

Tell us just where we went wrong.

While you are at it, disprove the alleged lies, mis truths, and accusations that have come from this site and the Unmoderated site.

Yet again, a rediculous statement is made by only saying how stupid we all are but nothing to back up the insult.

So tell us, 9:18pm, just exactly where do we go wrong and please be specific. Don't say "you followed Bill" or anything generic. Give us cold hard facts.

If you are incapable of doing that, then please refrain from posting to any of these sites again because you have become very boring.

PUBE - doesn't exist.
Remeber BBS has the power of GOD behind her.
I will pray for your redemption Bill.

OK thanks Chris,

I was getting a little worked up, it's good to have someone like you to yank me back to reality.

Sorry about the big win this May, I know it shows they have lost their relevance. I hope they don't think that the bullying they do will buy them votes next year.

Bill

These posts from Mike and whoever are just trying to get you goat. We are moving forward and next year we will have control of the board. Continue the good fight. Poor old Mikey can't go over to Jo's house once she leaves. He is losing one of the only friends he has. If they want to fight with fire, then show people who Mike really is. Put the post's up. Who knows, maybe someone will call you again. Don't cry Mike, Bridget and Chris will talk to you.
I am sure that next year will get worse with Chris and Jessica goes up for re-election. We should start to organize no later than January for 2 good solid candidates that our communities can support. Change is coming, can you see it. Mike, Bridget, Chris can surely see it and they are scared. Let's start a new slogan "Bill for President". Let's make bumper stickers.

Communicus said...

I never thought of that, it has a nice ring.

We will continue on our path and make the district safer and better for our kids and community.

Have a great day!

The Jo-Nami warning will be lifted soon, and we can all come out of our "fall out shelters" and breathe the fresh air!!!!

Next up?

Kneel Bonesteel and his APCSD employee wife Valerie need to go next!!!! Those two are a walking example of a serious CONFLICT OF INTEREST!!!! That would NOT be tolerated in ANY other school district!

The BOE President should not be married to a District employee.

We need to "clean house". Getting rid of Jo is the first step. Next is Sharon, Barbara, Mike, and Danielle.

If they all stay then we will continue to have problems.

Get all new, unrelated, fresh, not ties to the area professionals in this district to get it back on track.

My feeling is that if they are from Rensselaer County at all then don't apply.

Last night Channel 10 reported about the deal the out going Superintendent made with the Troy BOE. 250,000 and his health insurance paid for life. Is Dr. Moccia entitled to anything like that.

Troy superintendent deal raising eyebrows

Some parents are outraged by the deal Troy's outgoing superintendent is getting on his way out the door.

Superintendent Dr. Fadhilika Atiba-Weza and the Troy School Board announced his sudden departure last month, stating a 'difference in the direction' they are taking.

And in this time of layoffs and school closings, we're now learning the superintendent will be walking away from the 2 remaining years on his contract with a quarter of a million dollars, and health benefits for he and his family for the rest of his life.

The news means many moms and dads with children in Troy Public Schools are angry.

"Yeah because right there it shows that he (Atiba-Weza) wasn't all about the kids. He's all about the money," a disgusted mother of 3 Rachel Moon said.

And given the tough financial state of the school district, with school 12 now closed, and seven teachers out of work, concerned parents were outraged to find out Atiba-Weza would receive such a generous package.

Moon said, "He told us that it would cost around $300,000 to keep the school (School 12) open, and he got paid $250,000! Hello! We could have used that money to keep the school open, even if it didn't keep a school open, or not just our school, it could have saved another school."

Troy mother of 6 Amy Mainville agrees. She says the agreement is downright unfair.

Mainville said, "I know when I quit, or get fired from a job I don't get to continue receiving my benefits, I don't get health insurance for life. I have to pay enormous amounts of money to keep the insurance that I get."

Mother of 2 Holly Froner said, "It upsets me. It upsets the other parents. It's heartbreaking to know that he's taking money that could be used for the kids."

Some Troy parents are now beginning to demand answers about exactly what led to the fallout.

Froner said, "I think the people of Troy need to know what the differences were. Break it down for us, tell us what they were not getting along about. Was it closing the school, or was it not closing the school? Because that's when it all came about."

The Troy Board of Education released a statement that read, in part "There have been differences with the board and superintendent with regard to the direction and management of the school district but both parties feel the district will be best served by a change in administrative leadership."

Atiba-weza is now heading for a new job in Georgia, and the board says it will announce an Interim Troy Superintendent of Schools within the coming week.

Nothing even close to that happened here.
You would have heard if there was anything going on.
