Transportation Department uproar
The transportation Department has been in upheaval since last fall when the district fired Glasser. Where does the suit stand? How do the transportation rank and file feel after six months of changes. How is the new transportation contract?

I dont know where the law suit stands, but I hope that the taxpayers of this district realize what danger their children are in with this kind of chaos going on. No one in charge, no one who leads the department and no one who listens. I hope the worst doesnt happen before they start listening.
How should we feel when the head of the place is asleep at the wheel and the office staff runs the place. The top knows about it and doesn't even care.
I as an emplyee don't see any chaos going on in the department of transportation, we all work as a team, there is no I in TEAM, we do our jobs safely and professionally, whether there is a body in the office or not, we've shown up for work every day, and we have always been a TEAM no matter what is going on! whether we agree or not with what has happend, we do our jobs with the utt most care! WE ARE PROFESSIONALS & WE CARE ABOUT OUR CARGO! We will not let anything get in the way of the safety of our CHILDREN we drive every day, good weather, bad weather, supervisor, no supervisor, Safety above all, 181 days!!

Of course the employees are doing their job, that was never in question, so there is no need to be so defensive. The real complaint is with the lack of leadership, that will eventually affect even the best employees ability to their job. By the way, anyone with a scanner could figure out that there is chaos there, listening to the radio communications is very interesting.
As employees at the transportation dept we have always done our job, but it was much easier with a boss, that was there for us, believed in us and tried to make things better for us. Even if Jenny wasnt to come back, the district needs to know that the person they put in charge should not be there, he is a danger to the children as well as the rest of us!
The boss we have now is not doing what he needs, does not ask for a mechanic to go along BC there was a minor accident with a bus & truck, does not even ask for the head bus driver to come along, goes to go out the door without the kit they use for accidents, had to be given the camera! Hello! When things are said & done at the scene with the State Troppers, doesn't even ask the driver if all appears to be alright with the bus, does not have the driver check the bus out with him, like a pre-trip, just tells the driver OK bring the bus back into the garage & says where it needs to go BC there was minor damage, but come to find out after driver gets the bus back in, the driver & mechanic do like a pre-trip on that bus, & come to find out none of the lights on the bus were working. This man sleeps at his desk, is not out in the offfice when people are signing in, which he should be just to say HI & also to make sure all is OK with the employes that they are able to do their jobs, when you ask him to please watch a tape from a bus it takes him forever to get around to it! Sorry but, when someone ask you to please watch it's BC there is a problem that needs to be addressed not a wk. later or longer! It seems as though he does not include head bus driver in VERY MUCH of anything, meetings, disapline matters, trainings etc. It seems as though the matter of Miller Hill & Sand Lake have gone on deaf ears, When is something going to be done about the situations going on at those schools? When someone is hurt? Killed? Someone hits a bus? WHEN? WHEN? WHEN? Drivers have asked numerous times for help, if you haven't found an answer, then just MAYBE it needs to be gone over AGAIN! MAYBE with the principals, Supervisor of Transportation, Head Bus Driver & the drivers them selves!! get to a solution before something happens & NOW TOO LATE! We have a similar situation going on in the afternoon at the high school! Trying to leave, it is chaos! students in their cars pulling out in front of bus' ( thought they were to not move till all have left the high school, the bus', but they are,) if not mistaken they sign a paper that says they will wait for the bus' along with all the other things that give them the privilege to drive to school, have students running in between the bus' when they are leaving, have students when the bus' are turning right going out of the high school walk in front of them to get to Butler Park!! Just so you all KNOW THERE HAVE BEEN SOME VERY CLOSE CALLS WITH STUDENTS ALMOST BEING HIT BY A BUS! & or a students car colliding with a bus!! Have called numerous times to the office about this situation, & OH! Guess What? Nothing has been done about this either! (TOO BUSY SLEEPING!) WE NEED SOMETHING DONE! Jennie use to go with the mechanics & each would take a place & get those bus' out very safely, 1- would be where the students came out, stop them, 1- would be by Butler Park area, keep cars from coming, 1- would be in front of the driveway to transportation to direct us out & 1- would be right as we came out to keep the kids from crossing! Guess what? This worked very well! But you need someone who gives a darn!! for things to be done right or to accomplish a goal, not someone sleeping! WHEN IS ANYONE GOING TO GIVE A DARN ABOUT TRANSPORTATION? THERE ARE SOME VERY SERIOUS SITUATIONS GOING ON THAT NEED IMMEDIATE ATTENTION, BEFORE WE MAKE THE NEWS WITH A VERY SAD STORY! Just A Concerned Person Who Cares About The Students & The Drivers
Rens. Co Civil Service results are out, how is it that Mrs. Glasser passed overwhelmingly in both Transportation Super. and Dispatcher exams yet two others still employed aren’t even qualified to take Dispatcher exam and still have their positions. Transportation Supervisor is still in the position after being seen as incompetent by everyone in sight and no qualifications in Rens. Co., this must STOP!!! I for one will be forwarding this complaint to Civil Service, clearly there is favoritism going on. If you hold one person accountable for being unqualified and not the others, what is that???
I really don't know who see's this site, but here is a situation that occured this week, see how you feel about this?! A situation happend on a bus that the monitor & driver felt it necessary to write the student up, said student has had issues on the bus & the driver & monitor try to resolve things with talking to them & treating them as young adults, we request that the behavior or profound laungage stop, usually we get compliance & the student stops, we have had very few write ups on our bus, but this one day the student would not stop his fowl laungage, & then verbally threatend the other student with shooting him in the head! Hello! We then requested the student to come up front, he refused to move till I said either the front or I will call for a principal to have you removed from the bus, student then came to the front, threw his book bag, almost got the window, then proceeded to continue to be swearing was told to stop, he did, then he decided to sorta lay on the seat with his feet in the way of students getting by, requested him to sit up, asked why? Well 1 it's a safety issue, 2 in the way of people getting by. My monitor did the report up, gave it to our "Fearless Leader"! Our supervisor went to my monitor & told her there was going to be a meeting on Wed. 4 23 at 1:15, never asked me or told me about it, never said a word to our Head Bus Driver, I found out BC of my monitor! Excuse me, we are a team, she wrote the report & WE BOTH SIGNED IT! He never came to either one of us and asked what times may work for us for a meeting with the parent. student, principal, Head Bus Driver & him self! Just set it up! Well as it happend neither one of us were available for this time, we ourselves went to the head driver & asked for her to be there, which I feel is very important & she should be a part of meetings like this & she said "not a problem", I requested for our supervisor to please reschedule so that we could be ther, we were the ones who dealt with the situation on the bus & wrote the report, but he states it couldn't be rescheduled! ( What you feel a sleep & forgot to request this? ) BC never have I had a problem with a reschedule, BC the principal likes to have us there to listen to what took place!! It's a 1ST for me that it couldn't take place another time when we could be there! When we came in, he had the meeting (I need to back up a bit, he never came to us to say the meeting couldn't be changed, so when I didn't see him in the AM BC he got into work late on WED. I called on the radio to him to see if it was changed, that's when he said he couldn't get a hold of anyone on Tuesday afternoon, you mean to say there wasn't a principal around in the HS that he could talk to? I then said to him, well sorry if you can't change it we will not be able to be there, it really needs to be changed so we are there.) Never heard another thing about it in the morning, so when the runs were done we had to leave, I have my own business & my monitor had previous appt. with the Dr. So when I got in for the PM runs I asked if he was around & Kerrie had said, no he's at the meeting! (Are you kidding me?) I went about doing my PM runs, (my monitor was out for the PM run) so when I got back in from my runs, he was in his office, so I asked how come it couldn't be changed so we were included? he said BC "I couldn't get a hold of anyone. (YEAH RIGHT!) So I asked what took place was told this student is picked on in school & things are rough at home & he's having some issues, he wasn't receiving any ISS for his laungage, or for the threats. OK now tell me what's wrong with this picture? Like I said to my supervisor, so BC I have stress at home, it will be OK for me to threaten a student on my bus & use fowl laungage & the school is going to tell the IRATE parents that call Oh, she's having some issues at home & we're not doing anything to her! Oh I bet that would be well received! What is ever happening to this student is happening in school & he is bringing it onto the bus & causing a problem & acting like a bully & that's OK! Well as soon as we hear any of our students on my bus starting something we nip it ASAP! NOT ALLOWED! & either the student stops the behavior or it's a write up or if continues bad enough then I call for the student to be removed from the bus, well in 7 years I have only had 2 removed. So nothing is going to be done, so why bother writing a student up? Our supervisor can't even say, no sorry this behavior & threat warrents some type of action, but no he didn't, he probally just nodded & went along as he always does, can't even include the head bus driver, who we know would have said no this student needs some type of consequence, so now when this student acts out again, he's only going to laugh at us if he gets a write up! Like were nobody & we hold no weight! Like were a joke! Well, no were not the JOKE, OUR SLEEPING,DOPEY SUPERVISOR IS THE JOKE OF TRANSPORTATION! I thought there was ZERO TOLERENCE for any kind of threat! He was the one who came on the bus with the attitude & started, but that's OK? I DON"T THINK SO! Our head bus driver didn't even know he went over for the meeting! She wasn't included! This ALIEN needs to go!He's from another planet, "I DON'T CARE PLANET!!!!!" The district tax payers like paying his salary for his lack of interest in the employes, lack of safety concerns, lack of having a back bone, lack of including the Head Bus Driver, lack of standing up for issues on behalf of drivers & monitors, you're paying him for what? SLEEPING!!!! This comment is only from one driver & there are how many of us? Do you think I'm the only one who finds all this frustrating? NO! NO! NO! Like my mom would say when things went wrong "THIS TOO SHALL PASS" WHEN? SOON I HOPE!
I think it is totaly unacceptable the way this distict is being run we as taxpayers deserve much better than this but more importantly the kids do. I heard 3 or 4 good names for school board but they must have dropped out so that Jennie could run against one other person and win but I can't wait until these people take on Shaw, Tater, Christo and McKenna only then will we be able to get rid of Ms. Moccia and Mr Quimet her puppet.
I also work for the district! I have seen many supervisors come and go but we were told that Marty was no good and "they" got rid of him! Well hello we have a younger version of an old Marty. He knows nothing about anything. Sleeps at his desk, comes to work late and lets 2 young girls run the whole transportation dept! Even they can’t do this job! They don’t keep the same attendant on a run it is who miss dispatcher decides (what ever happened to consistency?) You have 2 young girls who are giddy most of the time and can’t meet the qualifications of dispatcher. Can’t pass the test and do not have 3 years experience as in posting. Oh I get it, change title so you can keep snitches in place!
We don’t need anyone in that office! We know what our job is and we do it well together even without anyone in that office. The head bus driver has to take the slack for the incompetence of the young giddy unqualified girls. But the wonderful supervisor doesn’t have to do anything--he has 2 girls in the office that run the show for him!
Do you really know if they passed the test or not, if they did do you really know what the scores were and what number they are at on the list!!!!!
